Supported Targets

Complete list of AI CLIs that skillshare supports out of the box.

Overview

skillshare provides 79 built-in targets, including the shared Universal target. When you run skillshare init, it automatically detects and configures any installed tools.

These are auto-detected during skillshare init:

Universal target

The universal target (~/.agents/skills) is a shared agent directory that multiple AI CLIs can read from. It is auto-detected during skillshare init when any other agent is found. In project mode, amp, codex, cursor, dexto, kimi, purecode, replit, warp, witsy, zed, and zencoder share the same .agents/skills path and are grouped under universal automatically.

This is the same path used by the npx skills CLI. See FAQ: Using universal alongside npx skills for coexistence details.

Oh My Pi (OMP)

Use omp for native skills, MCP configuration and code hooks. Skills go to ~/.omp/agent/skills globally or .omp/skills in a project. OMP scans one level of <skill>/SKILL.md and requires a description; Skillshare's default flat target naming fits that layout. oh-my-pi is a skill-target alias; the MCP client ID is omp.

MCP uses ~/.omp/agent/mcp.json or .omp/mcp.json, not Pi's files. Sync preserves OMP's enable/disable lists and native server settings. For a named profile, declare an account target with agent: omp and its explicit config_dir; automatic profile path selection is separate.

The dashboard's Extensions tab lists native, configured, hook and plugin extension files, their scope, and selection from inspected settings. Selected does not mean loaded or running. Supported standalone modules can be toggled through a revision-checked preview and apply; unsupported or uncertain rows remain read-only. The inventory never imports extension code or migrates settings. Hooks-owned files link back to Hooks only when Skillshare's ownership record and file hash match.

OMP plugin management supports marketplace-backed local/Git sources in native user/project scopes. OMP accounts do not redirect plugin storage. See the same reference for extension editing's verified-version, ownership and native-lock requirements.

OMP has no project trust prompt. Review code before syncing hooks: a written extension may execute at the next OMP startup.

DeepSeek Harness and GitLab Duo

The paths above show defaults. For built-in global paths, skillshare also honors:

  • DeepSeek Harness: DSH_HOME selects <DSH_HOME>/skills. Empty or whitespace-only values use the default. The tool also reads ~/.agents/skills and project .agents/skills; its project target stays at .dsh/skills. See the native skill discovery documentation.
  • GitLab Duo: GLAB_CONFIG_DIR selects <GLAB_CONFIG_DIR>/skills; otherwise XDG_CONFIG_HOME selects <XDG_CONFIG_HOME>/gitlab/duo/skills. With neither override, Windows uses %APPDATA%\GitLab\duo\skills, while macOS/Linux use ~/.gitlab/duo/skills. Its project target is skills, not .gitlab/duo/skills.

GitLab Duo's user-level skills are experimental and require glab duo cli --enable-global-skills true or GITLAB_ENABLE_GLOBAL_SKILLS=true. It also reads the shared ~/.agents/skills directory when global skills are enabled. Syncing files alone does not enable discovery. See GitLab's Agent Skills documentation.

Run skillshare with the same native home overrides as the tool. An explicit skills path in your skillshare configuration remains unchanged; tool-specific configuration and alternative shared roots such as DSH_AGENTS_HOME require an explicit target path.

Aliases

Some targets have alternative names for backward compatibility or convenience:

You can use either the alias or the canonical name in all commands:

skillshare target add claude # canonical
skillshare target add claude-code # alias — same result

Aliases are resolved automatically. The canonical name is used in config files and status output.

Check Target Path

For any target, run:

skillshare target <name>

Custom Targets

Don't see your AI CLI? Add it manually:

skillshare target add myapp ~/.myapp/skills

See Adding Custom Targets for details.
